French Bulldog Pic

In a French Bulldog pic, you’ll see a miniature, but muscular dog of the Bulldog type. It’s still argued whether this variety of the Bulldog was developed in France or in England and later was brought to France. A smaller version of the English Bulldog was very popular among British lace workers and sailors who traveled to France in search of work in the late 19th century. Undersized puppies didn’t fit the strict breed standard for the English Bulldog and breeders sold them at a great discount.

A clownish appearance and wonderful personality of smaller Bulldogs won the hearts of the French. As we can see in French Bulldog pic galleries of that time, owning miniature Bulldogs was a matter of prestige. The royalty and nobility kept such dogs as family companions. For instance, the Russian Royal Family and other monarchs imported them from France. One French Bulldog was on board of "Titanic”. Well to do ladies kept them as lap dogs and alert watchdogs. The new breed was named the French Bulldog, but started its worldwide popularity in England, since it was British breeders and sailors who distributed the French Bulldog around the world.

These dogs were introduced to the USA in the late 19th century. American breeders preserved the original looks of the breed. In a French Bulldog pic, you can see the difference between the European and American varieties of the breed. Most European French Bulldogs have rose ears, while American Frenchies have large erect ears. Very cheap a century ago, nowadays, French Bulldogs are very expensive. It’s almost impossible to find a purebred puppy cheaper than $1000. There are several reasons for high prices for French Bulldogs. The litter size is very low in this breed; dams need special care and assistance during the labor; puppies are often born very weak and need to be hand-fed. Artificial insemination is often required.

Though keeping a French Bulldog is still a matter of prestige, no one should buy a dog of this breed just because one can afford it. The purchasing price for a French Bulldog puppy is just a beginning. To be healthy and happy, these dogs need quality food, vet observation, and professional training. French Bulldog pic galleries, though attractive, often lead people astray and make them buy these dogs on impulse.
