Bulldogs Rescues Breeders - General Appearance
The Bulldogs are very strong and brave canines. This dog is a small dog in stature, but rather wide and compact dog with a thick, massive head. One of the main characteristics of the breed is that the head should be broad and that the broader the head is the more prized the dog is. The cheeks should extend to the sides of the eyes. The skin on the skull and forehead should fall in dense folds.
The muzzle is short and pug; the nose is broad and black with large nostrils. Its upper lip is pendent shaped and its lower jaw should be very undershot. Eyes are very round and very dark. The ears are to be small and thin, folded back in the form of a rose. The tail is short and carries low.
Bulldogs Rescues Breeders - General
Height: Males are about 23-28 inches high and the females are 20-26 inches high.
Weight: Males weigh about 95-150 pounds and females weigh 70-130 pounds.
Coat Texture and Color: The coat is very short and fine in texture, pure of its kind and brilliant. The coat of the Bulldog comes in red, fawn, brindle, pale yellow or washed-out red, or white, and can combine any of these colors. Black is not acceptable and is forbidden. The muzzle is sometimes dark. As the coat is short, it is very easy to groom. This breed is an average shedder.
Activity Level: When these dogs are young, they are full of energy, but bulldogs slow down, as they get older. They snore very loudly, and most have drool and slobber tendencies.
Indoor Breed: The Bulldog is an indoor dog breed. Bulldogs do best in temperate climates as they can chill easily in cold weather and have trouble cooling off in very hot weather.
Exercises: Some adult Bulldogs would just as soon not take any exercise, while others are full of energy. In any case all Bulldogs will stay fitter if given some regular exercise. Fit English Bulldogs are capable of moving very quickly for short periods of time.
